July 24, 2019

WASHINGTON, D.C. –
The Regional Airline Association, the industry trade group representing North American regional airlines, congratulated Steve Dickson on his confirmation as the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration this morning.

With over a decade as a U.S. Air Force officer and a  27-year career at Delta Air Lines that culminated as Senior Vice President of Flight Operations, Dickson is a highly-respected aviation leader with relevant experience in key areas such as NextGen, pilot training, aviation safety, aircraft certification and regulatory compliance.

“As a longtime Delta executive, Dickson had a clear view of regional airline operations and is familiar with the role our industry plays in safely connecting communities of all sizes,” said RAA President & CEO Faye Malarkey Black. “On behalf of the membership, we congratulate Captain Dickson, whose vast experience prepares him well to lead the FAA during this critical period.”

Black also thanked Dan Elwell for his service, noting, “Acting Administrator Elwell led the Agency through challenging times and his thoughtful and steady leadership centered on relying on facts and data to protect and improve aviation safety. Acting Administrator Elwell is an admirable public servant and we thank him for his leadership and look forward to continuing to work with him in his role as Deputy Administrator.”
